Important to note for all Oneplan Pet insurance plans is that premiums are risk profile dependent, which means the monthly premium will be calculated according to the specifications of one’s pet. Along with this, there is a limit of eight pets per policy and pets must be older than eight weeks old.
To be specific, in terms of age:
- Small dogs must be younger than 11 years
- Medium dogs must be younger than 10 years
- Big dogs must be younger than 9 years
- Cats must be younger than 11 years

At a pet insurance price starting from R70 pm, Oneplan's Accident plan will ensure that one’s pets are covered for the small-scale events and have day-to-day benefits which offer access to casualty for when they visit the vet but are not admitted.
This comes with a waiting period of 30 days and includes PetMed Savings, which allows the fur kids to receive medication that they may need. As for hospital benefits, Oneplan’s Accident plan will cover up to R8000 in accident cover as well as up to R1500 in the event of burial and cremation.
Hospital plan
At a pet insurance price starting from R169 pm, Oneplan’s Hospital plan offers day-to-day benefits as per the Oneplan Accident plan with the option to expand one's day-to-day accessibility by signing up to Oneplan’s Pet Med Booster for R350 per annum.
Hospital benefits include:
- Up to R35 000 per hospital event in the case of hospital admission for accidents, including scans and diagnostics linked to corrective procedures.
- Up to R2000 per annum for post-operative care.
- Up to R165 per day or R1650 per event for kennel cover.
- Up to R1500 for burial and cremation.

At a pet insurance price starting from R325 pm, Oneplan’s Super Plan offers up to R6200 per annum or up to R1550 per visit for day-to-day benefits of causality and R850 per annum for Pet Med Savings.
Hospital benefits include:
- Up to R55 000 cover per event for the hospital admission.
- Up to R5000 per annum for post-operative care.
- R1850 per event or up to R185 per day for kennel cover.
- Up to R1500 for burial and cremation.
Important to note on Oneplan’s Hospital plan, Classic plan, and Super Plan for Pet Insurance, is that the following is excluded for 12 months from the date of inception:
- Cancer
- Arthritis
- Heart disease
- Tumours / masses/ growths
- IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) and tuberculosis (TB)
- Diabetes
- Congenital, hereditary and pre-existing conditions.
Classic Plan
At a pet insurance price starting from R230 pm, Oneplan’s Classic Plan offers up to R5200 per annum or up to R1300 per visit for day-to-day benefits of causality and R750 per annum for Pet Med Savings.
Hospital benefits include:
- Up to R40 000 cover per event for hospital admission
- Up to R20 000 per annum for post-operative care
- R1650 per event or up to R165 per day for kennel cover
- Up to R1500 for burial and cremation

Pet insurance claims
To submit an insurance claim with Oneplan Pet Insurance in South Africa, one can make use of the DIY pre-paid claim process with the Oneplan App. Once Oneplan Pet Insurance members have downloaded the Oneplan App from Google PlayStore, they can follow the four-step DIY process which involves the following:
- Login to the Oneplan App
- Load a claim
- The money will be loaded onto the policyholders’ Onecard
- Policyholders can swipe their Onecard after the consultation
